Low friction Teflon enhanced dynamic seals allows the CPI cylinder to achieve speeds never before attained. With low break-away and almost no seal migration the CPI cylinder can extend in milliseconds and our unique cushion design can decelerate in as little as six milliseconds. Independent testing performed at 216 cycles per minute produced over four and a half million cycles, ten times the nearest competitor.
Heat is an enemy to cylinders, it dries up lubrication and turns rubber seals into goo. The CPI cylinder uses self-lubricating Teflon enhanced piston and rod seals with integral elastomers which are capable of sustained temperatures above 400F. Our Airimid composite rod bearing provides high side load capability at elevated temperatures with no in-line or prelube required.
Corrosive and gritty environments cause havoc on cylinders. Once the particulate gets by the nose seal it embeds itself in seals and bearings turning them into sandpaper. The CPI designed excluder provides excellent particulate protection and will maintain a seal on the rod even under heavy deflection. The engineering department at CPI can design a cylinder to handle any hostile environment. If you need 316 stainless, carbon fiber or a unique mounting configuration, Cascade Precision can build custom cylinders to meet your OEM needs.
